Final Disposition
Released from Manasota Key on June 29, 2005
This turtle was found floating near the 10th Street Boat Ramp in Sarasota Bay. It is extremely anemic, lethargic, and emaciated, the same as most of the other loggerheads we have had for the last year. It is weak, but is eager to eat.
4/18 Turtle has severe diarrhea and some vomiting, but is eating fairly well.
4/23 Have found spirochete and protozoa in gut, so have changed treatment. Slowly improving.
5/11 Turtle is finally gaining weight and doing much better. Anemia is now resolving.
6/30 Turtle continued to improve and was released yesterday off Manasota Key.
