12/22/2018 Sea turtle was found on west end of Bowman’s Beach in Lee County and transported to the Clinic for the Rehabilitation of Wildlife.
12/23/2018 Because turtle has a few fibropapilloma tumors, it was transferred to Mote for rehabilitation. Blood work shows a slightly elevated white blood cell count and low blood glucose. Started injectable antibiotics and will give turtle subcutaneous fluids with dextrose until animal is eating well. Mr. Holly was put in a shallow rehab. pool.
12/24/2018 Mr. Holly ate some seafood when offered today.
12/29/2018 Mr. Holly is still lethargic in general, but is slowly eating all food offered.
01/21/2019 Water level in tank has been increased to half full. Mr. Holly is more active and is eagerly foraging all prey items.
02/15/2019 Mr. Holly had surgery today to remove the fibropapilloma tumors.
03/09/2019 Mr. Holly is healing well following his surgery. He is very active and is eating well.
04/05/2019 Holly was released by Mote staff and interns at Casey Key!
