07/27/2025 Turtle was found being attacked by a shark at the surface of the water offshore. Citizens pulled the animal onto the boat and FWC coordinated transfer to Mote.
08/17/2025 “Strength” is eating more consistently, so she has started to receive calcium supplementation and a multivitamin in her
food daily. She also receives iron injections due to the blood loss secondary to her shark attack injuries. “Strength” was moved into one of the front tanks last week and seems to enjoy her sunlight and full water level!
09/18/2025 “Strength” continues to eat well and receive iron supplementation as her red blood cells continue to regenerate from her shark attack.
10/20/2025 “Strength’s” bloodwork improved and she continued to eat on her own. She was medically cleared for release. We are happy to report that she had a successful release today.
