06/20/2020 Hookee was accidentally caught while fisherman were fishing off Blind Pass Beach in Englewood, FL. They called the Mote Marine Laboratory & Aquarium's stranding hotline and held the turtle until our team arrived. Hookee was brought to the Sea Turtle Hospital for hook removal and rehabilitation. The hook was not easily removable so Hookee will need to have a surgical procedure to remove it.
06/22/2020 Hookee was sedated and had the hook removed from the esophagus. Hookee will need to heal quick before being released.
06/28/2020 Hookee ate seafood for the first time with us today!
