About Amber
Amber Smalley is the Marketing and Public Relations Manager at Mote Marine Laboratory and Aquarium. In this role she leads Mote's communications strategy, overseeing media relations, social media, and marketing efforts. Her focus is on sharing Mote's mission and impact by promoting world-class marine research, STEM education program, conservation initiatives and community engagement.
After earning her Bachelor's of Science in Environmental Science, Amber joined the Mote family bringing a unique combination of environmental knowledge and communication expertise. She served six years in the U.S. Navy as a mass communication specialist, building a strong foundation in media production, public affairs and strategic outreach.
Amber is committed to advancing ocean science and conservation by translating complex research into stories that resonate. With a forward-thinking approach and deep respect for Mote's mission, she ensures the organization's voice is unified, impactful and aligned with its vision for a healthier ocean.
