Biography:

Lizabeth is focused on Harmful Algal Bloom Mitigation, Seagrass Mitigation.

Liz is originally from central New Jersey, but has lived in the Sarasota/Pinellas area for most of her life and considers herself as a Florida local. She grew up with a passion for the ocean and received a B.S. in Marine Biology from Eckerd College. Before joining Mote, Liz worked for the Tampa Bay Aquatic Preserves under the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) where she gained experience understanding local marine habitats and conducting water quality monitoring. 

Her position at Mote oversees the Red Tide Initiative Facility and the Seagrass Restoration Greenhouse at Mote’s Aquaculture Research Park. She aids funded projects/partners conduct their research under Mote’s Red Tide Mitigation and Technology Development Initiative and Seagrass Restoration Technology Development Initiative programs, as well as NOAA’s U.S. Harmful Algal Bloom Control Technologies Incubator.
