Biography:
Robert Essner is the retired Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of Wyeth (now Pfizer). During his tenure at Wyeth Mr. Essner was also Chairman of the Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America and Chairman of the Dolder Group, a council of leaders of large global pharmaceutical corporations. He has served as a director of Mass Mutual Insurance, Amicus Therapeutics, PPI and Nature’s Bounty, and was Senior Advisor to the Carlyle Group.
Currently, Mr. Essner is Executive in Residence and adjunct professor at Columbia Business School and serves on the boards of a number of organizations.
Education:
A graduate of Miami University, Oxford, Ohio, Mr. Essner received a master’s degree from the University of Chicago.
