03/08/2021  Juvenile green sea turtle stranded at New Smyrna Beach, Volusia County.  Animal was lethargic and covered in epibiota.

03/09/2021  Due to lack of space at the sea turtle rehabilitation facilities on Florida's east coast, 15 juvenile green sea turtles were transferred to Mote for rehabilitation.  Animals were weighed, had blood work done, and were given subcutaneous fluids and injectable antibiotics.  Turtles were put in rehab. tanks with very shallow water.

03/10/2021  Turtle ate when offered seafood today!

04/10/2021  Howe continues to improve.  Turtle is in deep water, actively swimming, and eating all food offered.

04/12/2021  Blood work shows some elevated kidney and liver values, so Howe will be housed in water with lower salinity to help with hydration and was also started on milk thistle to help with liver health.

05/21/2021  Blood work has greartl improved so milk thistle supplements were discontinued and Howe is now being housed in a water at full salinity.

06/07/2021  Molasses, Looe, Howe, Raja, Kimbe, Brewer, Diego, and Bumble were all released by Mote staff at the beach in Ormond-by-the-Sea on Florida's east coast.
