6/27/15 Turtle was brought in by spearfisherman who accidently shot her with spear gun. Veterinary staff surgincally removed spear on the same day. Turtle is taking food when prompted.
7/14/15 Turtle eating food when prompted. Still in critical condition.
10/30/2015 Turtle occasionally eats on her own but is not consistent. Antibiotics have been resumed.
12/04/2015 Longshot was moved to larger, deeper tank for evaluation. Turtle is still being stick-fed for most feeds; continuing to work on forage feeding.
2/05/2016 Appetite has improved and eats well with some foraging, but is still stick-fed also.
4/25/2016 Longshot was moved back into a smaller tank due to maintence of the larger tanks. She is not improving in her foraging capabilities and will most likely be deemed non-releasable unless she starts to forage for food on her own.
06/17/2016 Due to Longshot's inability to forage, animal is deemed medically non-releasable.
07/16/2016 Because of Longshot's deteriorating condition and severe decline in appetite, animal was humanely euthanized.
