03/08/2021 Juvenile green sea turtle stranded at Ormond Beach, Volusia County. Animal was lethargic and covered in epibiota.
03/09/2021 Due to lack of space at the sea turtle rehabilitation facilities on Florida's east coast, 15 juvenile green sea turtles were transferred to Mote for rehabilitation. Animals were weighed, had blood work done, and were given subcutaneous fluids and injectable antibiotics. Turtles were put in rehab. tanks with very shallow water.
03/10/2021 Turtle ate when offered seafood today!
04/10/2021 Looe continues to improve. Turtle is in deep water, actively swimming, and eating all food offered. He is currently on oral antibiotics.
04/19/2021 Looe's blood work has improved and he is doing well, so antibiotics were discontinued.
06/07/2021 Molasses, Looe, Howe, Raja, Kimbe, Brewer, Diego, and Bumble were all released by Mote staff at the beach in Ormond-by-the-Sea on Florida's east coast.
