09/13/2016 Animal was accidentally caught by a reasearch boat that was out fishing. Animal had spectra fishing line coming out of mouth, cloaca, and wrapped around neck and front flipper. Animal was transported to Mote for rehab. and monitoring of the internal fishing line. Radiographs showed no ingested fishing hooks present. External fishing line was removed and animal was placed in rehab. enclosure for monitoring until internal line hopefully passes.

09/15/2016 Pancake is swimming well and eating well. Has been passing small amount of fishing line while defecating.

09/25/2016 The last of the fishing line was passed today!

11/03/2016 Pancake has been medically cleared for release.

11/10/2016 Pancake was released by Mote staff and interns at Honeymoon Island
