08/08/2022 Animal was observed floating at the surface near the Englewood Bait House in Charlotte County. Upon initial exam, it was noted that Williamson had a flipper tag in each front flipper and a PIT tag. After contacting FWC, it was determined that turtle had been previously rehabilitated at Clearwater Marine Aquarium and was released on December 21, 2021. Williamson had laser surgery to remove fibropapilloma tumors while at CMA, and luckily showed no signs of tumor re-growth upon re-stranding.
08/09/2022 Williamson immediately ate seafood and romaine lettuce when offered. He is active, alert, and blood values are within normal parameters.
08/17/2022 Williamson continues to eat well and is active. He is being tested in various depths to ensure that he can fully submerge his body below the water's surface to eat and rest.
08/18/2022 Williamson was released by boat in 10,000 Islands!
