Celebrating a coral restoration star: Clayton Pelkey

Mote Marine Laboratory's coral research team is proud to share that Clayton Pelkey—a Mote staff biologist with autism who excels in coral restoration work—was featured recently in the video series "A Decade of U," created by employU. EmployU is a nonprofit disability employment service creating an inclusive workforce for people with disabilities through education, empowerment and advocacy.

Pelkey's passion, intelligence and hard work have strengthened our science and conservation mission at Mote's Elizabeth Moore International Center for Coral Reef Research & Restoration on Summerland Key. There, he helps keep our nursery-grown corals happy and healthy, while his kindness and dedication keep his human colleagues happy too!
