Instructions for Applying to the MREASU Program
Please complete this application form in its entirety. To reduce paper consumption and our impact on the environment, we request that application materials be sent via email to reu@mote.org. In addition to this form, students must submit the following items, preferably in ONE email (excluding recommendation letters):
- A resume or curriculum vitae describing any relevant jobs, internships, volunteer work, scholarships and/or other activities that you have held or participated in and other skills or accomplishments that you wish to identify.
- A one- to two-page statement of interest describing your interests and career goals, the reasons you should be selected for the program, how participation in the program will influence your career development, and the top two programs in which you are interested in working and why.
- A copy of your current college transcript (unofficial transcripts sent via email are preferred; digital, official transcripts - if offered by your school - are accepted as well. Paper submissions sent via fax or mail are strongly discouraged).
- One letter of recommendation from individuals capable of commenting on your academic qualifications and, if possible, research skills (college or university faculty or research advisors preferred). Letters of recommendation MUST be sent from the person writing the letter, preferably via email to reu@mote.org either as an attachment or within the body of the email, and will not be accepted if sent from the applicant's email.
- A copy of your birth certificate stating you were born in America Samoa.
All items must be received by March 1st, 2015, preferably via email at reu@mote.org.
