World Oceans Week: Make Waves Not Waste

June 11 @ 10:00 am - 11:00 am

Celebrate World Oceans Week with creative crafts that are kind to the planet! Join us for Trash to Treasure, where you’ll explore the impact of everyday crafting materials—and discover ocean-friendly alternatives that are just as fun.

From pasta bead bracelets to eco-glitter, you’ll leave with a creation you can feel great about. Plus, don’t miss a special student-led display about the environmental cost of fast fashion in a powerful “trashion” project.

*Free with Aquarium admission

Activities

      • Build-A-Bracelet Bar Choose from sustainable materials like pasta beads, paper, and eco-glitter to create your own ocean-friendly bracelet.
      • Craft Smarter Station Compare traditional craft supplies (like plastic glitter and beads) with their planet-positive alternatives. Learn what to look for next time you get crafty!
      • “Trashion” Showcase See a homeschool student’s creative project about fast fashion, waste, and the role of youth in making change.
