8/25 This turtle was found entangled in nylon line that was attached to a marker. Its left front flipper was entangled and the line was deeply embedded and had cut off the blood supply to the flipper. The nylon line was removed and animal was started on antibiotic therapy. The turtle is not using the injured flipper and severe swelling is a concern that we will monitor very closely. 9/3 The swelling in the injured flipper is improving and the animal is starting to move the flipper a little. Eating well. 9/7 Harley is swimming well and using the injured flipper more each day. 10/1 Harley was moved to a larger, deeper tank and continues to improve swimming. 10/31 Harley the turtle has been cleared for release. Today, the turtle was given flipper and pit tags. 11/5 Harley was released at San Carlos Bay today!
