03/30/2024  Turtle was found near Snead Island on the north side of Emerson Point in Manatee County.  Turtle is severely emaciated, covered in heavy epibiota, and has fibropapilloma tumors present.  Bllod work was done and turtle was given subcutaneous fluids and injectable antibiotics.  Turtessa is in a tank in very shallow water and immediately ate squid heads when offered.

04/19/2024  Turtessa is swimming strongly and eating all seafood offered.  Turtle was moved to a larger pool so she has more room to swim  Was switched from an injectable antibiotic to an oral antibiotic to minimize handling and stress.
