Turtle with fibropapillomas on both eyes.

8/14 Turtle was recovered covered in fibropapilloma tumors, including on both eyes. It was also entangled in monofilament, including one that extends down its throat. Will take radiographs tomorrow to determine internal tumors and presence of internal hooks. 8/15 No evidence of internal tumors or hooks. Unable to extract the fishing line from the turtle's throat. Have attached device to it and passed into stomach to see if it will pass over the next couple of weeks. Turtle began to eat this morning. 8/20 Turtle's appetite is fairly good. Planning laser surgery later this week to remove tumors on eyes and largest tumors elsewhere. 8/28 All tumors were removed via laser last week and turtle is recovering well from the surgery. 9/2 Turtle passed the fishing line this morning. Turtle is doing very well. 9/11 Turtle's surgical lesions are healing very well, including the eyes. Appetite is good. 9/26 Turtle is doing well, although there appears to be some tumor regrowth on its eyes. A CT-scan, performed last night at Axcess Diagnostics of Sarasota, revealed no evidence of internal tumors. Will schedule laser eye surgery within the next week. 10/6 Turtle had laser eye surgery last week. Surgery went very well and the turtle is back to eating and behaving normally. 10/24 Turtle continues to do well. Eating all that is offered and surgery sites are healing. 11/25 Turtle continues to improve. Turtle is eating well and off all medication. 12/08 Turtle doing well, no growths have been observed. 12/15 Very close exam revealed several very small tumors developing on the skin. Laser surgery was performed to remove them. 12/22 Turtle is on a antibiotic because of an infection. 1/5 Gaining weight and being monitored closely for any regrowths 1/26 Eating well and bloodwork is normal. No re-growths have been seen on this turtle.
