Hard coral species form the limestone foundation of a reef, while soft corals appear feathery and tree-like. Without corals, our oceans would lack the species diversity and livelihood that provide humans with a food, jobs, coastline protection, and oceanic medicines. By adopting a coral, you're helping Mote scientists breed corals with higher resilience to increasing heat, test various disease treatments and plant new corals onto damaged reefs.
